Dr. Susan Sumskis
Dr Susan Sumskis is Head of Health and Senior Lecturer at the Nan Tien Institute. Sue has extensive professional experience in a variety of mental health settings and within tertiary education. Sue’s PhD investigated resilience and mental health, finding that challenge and support are essential components of developing resilience, grit and growth.
Sue is a Consultant Lecturer for the NSW Police Force Safe Custody Program; Lecturer in Mental Health, School of Nursing, University of Wollongong; Mental Health Nurse, Mental Health Nurse Incentive Program, Illawarra NSW and Clinical Nurse Specialist & Registered Nurse, Greater Southern Local Health District. Sue has won a number of grants and awards for her work, including a Churchill Fellowship in 2007.
